we went to addison oktoberfest last thursday - an annual tradition in our family (see pics from
2006 &
2007). there, we met up with uncle dan dan, uncle lindsay (trey's best friend), and lindsay's girlfriend andria.
this tradition becomes more fun each year: her first year she just drank (milk) along with trey, last year she rode the carousel and tea cups, and this year a whole new world of rides and games opened up to her. she was looking forward

to riding the carousel again - it was the first thing she asked for when she woke from her nap. when she saw the ferris wheel and all the lights, though, she started to get really excited! she rode the carousel twice, the tea cups, motorcycles, roller coaster, and went down the slide with trey. unfortunately, the prices are outrageous. each ride cost at least $3; when we first arrived there were not that many people, so they only charged us for aubren. when we came back after dinner, aubren was begging to ride the tea cups, so we gave them 3 tickets and got on the cup. the operator then told me i needed tickets, too. it's ridiculous - i wasn't about to pay $6 for a couple of minutes. so, i told him i wanted my tickets back and we got off. aubren was, of course, crying - i turned her so the man could see, but he didn't seem to feel bad. thankfully the crying quickly ended when they let us ride the carousel together!
