First Day of School

Our sweet girl started Kindergarten this year. We're so proud of her and the young girl she has grown into. Milia is excited to walk her big sister to school everyday and loves to visit Aubren at ACM.

We were asked by her teacher to write a letter bragging about our child. Thankfully, she is super easy to write about!

Aubren is our first born and an exceptional daughter. She is even tempered, laid back, kind, and genuinely thoughtful. She is a rule follower and an obedient child. She desires to please others and she is crushed when she gets in trouble. Aubren loves her friends and her friends love her. She plays alongside her peers well. She tends to take on a leadership role when playing and is growing in the area of not getting upset when others do not want to to play her game of choice.

She is expressive. She loves dancing, singing, and using her imagination. She loves to color, paint, and make art. Reading and playing pretend are two of her favorite activities.

Aubren is a quick learner, smart , and eager to learn new things.

She is a wonderful big sister and a role model to our two year old daughter, Milia. Aubren loves to teach, comfort, protect and play with her. She desires quality time with her family and is a super great cuddler.

As her parents, we may be biased, but we think we have a pretty awesome kid. She has exceeded our expectations and we are so excited to see her challenged and encouraged to grow during this new stage of her life.

Thank you for considering our little one precious and unique. We hope you get to see just how special she is throughout this school year.

Mommy Daughter Date

A few weeks before school started, Aubren and I dropped Milia off for a play date, and went to the Dallas Children's and Science Museum. We had a lovely day spending quality time with one another. I sure am going to miss my baby when she goes to kindergarten!

Toothless!

Aubren lost her first tooth. Finally, after weeks of being loose, it came out with one bite of her corn on the cob. She was very excited to use my special childhood tooth pillow! And even more excited when she found two dollars under her pillow the next morning.

Happy Birthday to My Girls!

Summer Vacation

We headed to Pensacola, FL this summer to visit Uncle Dan Dan. It was our first big family vacation. The girls were super excited to go on a road trip to the beach! We made our first stop in Jackson, MS. The hotel was right next door to a Bass Pro Shop so that is where we spent our evening. Aubren and Milia were not quite sure about all the "stuffed" animals. They enjoyed exploring the store, shooting guns and shopping for their first vacation treasures, a moose named Jingle and doggie named Jingle Bells.

The next day we continued to Pensacola. We arrived at Dan's house and the girls were so excited about seeing the beach that we drove down around sunset to let them run around in the sand. We quickly found out that Milia was not a fan of the pretty white beaches.

Our first full day at the beach was great. The city had seen rain the days before we arrived so it was cool and sunny. We rented an umbrella and chairs and sweet Milia stayed in her chair for the first three hours! While little bit relaxed, Aubren, Trey and I had fun building sand castles and burying each other in the sand. Finally, about 30 minutes before we were ready to go, Milia ventured out into the sand. She fell in love with her giant sand box! The next two days we visited the beach in the evening. The sunsets were beautiful and there were no crowds. My mom decided to come vacation with us for a few days too. We enjoyed having her with us and the girls loved having their JJ around to play with them.

One of our days we drove to the Gulfarium. The girls loved the dolphin show so
much that we brought home their favorite treasures, daisy and daphne dolphin.

We also got to visit Uncle Dan Dan's work. The girls loved the National Naval Aviation Museum. It was a really, really long drive and we confirmed Milia Mae is not a good car traveler!!
Besides that, our first family road trip was a success!
