aubren started school last month and has been loving it! i was stressing a little bit about getting her into a program this fall. most of the places i looked were 2 day programs and i just wanted 1 day. my friend, holly, happens to work at a mother's day out and would be one of aub's teachers. they had a opening so i went ahead and enrolled her and was able to get in in time to pre-register for the fall. i love that she loves it and i love that i have 5 hours to get things done!her 1st day she could have cared less that we left. she was so excited to carry her backpack and lunch box and to see all the other kids carrying theirs. we had talked about all the things she would do at school and her teacher commented on how enthusiastic she was all day. she met a little girl named abby who happened to have the same hello kitty lunch box and they chatted about through the meal. she also loves music class mostly because she says she gets to run around, gallop, and tip toe. she also giggles because her music teacher, miss debbie, mispronounces her name and calls her aubern. thankfully she takes naps, however, her 1st day she was startled when she was awakened to the kids calling her name. i guess one of them pulled her hair to try to wake her so now every time i pick her up she says, "i took a nap and they didn't pull my hair".
when we enrolled her we had to write down what we thought her character traits were. she is independent (sometimes stubborn), energetic, enthusiastic, sensitive, empathetic, quick to learn, and loves affirmation! she is such a sweet little girl and is developing quite a personality. and we are so excited that she loves school!!
