just a birthmark

Today aubren had a followup MRI on her brain. we tried to explain to her what would take place so she was somewhat prepared. however, i was dreading the process. mostly it was the i.v. i was not looking forward to. but of course our little girl was a trooper. they shot lidocaine into her hand without a needle and then inserted the i.v.. she whined a little just because she didn't know what was happening but didn't shed a tear. thank goodness for lidocaine, bubbles, and dora books!

it is always sweet when she wakes up. she always starts talking about what we were discussing when she fell asleep with the anesthesia. today it was blue gatorade. after she woke up we took her to lunch at denny's and she enjoyed playing with the little ladybug that joined us at the table.

we met with the doctor this afternoon and he gave us exciting news - no more MRI scans!! he confirmed that she has a lipoma, a build up of fatty tissue. he explained that it was just like a birthmark.

we ended the day celebrating at the restaurant of her choice, chuck e. cheese. she had a lot of fun playing games and eating pizza. it still amazes me how much she can eat. she finally stopped eating after five pieces!

we are so glad this chapter of our life is closed - we love you aubren and are so proud of you!
