that evening we went over to my parents (jj and papa) house and spent the rest of the holiday. we helped decorate the tree, made smores, saw bolt at the theatre (aubs wasn't thrilled with the movie - we almost walked out after she kept crying through the scary parts but when she realized we were leaving she starting crying to go back in the movie with jj and papa!). aubren's highlight was playing dress up all weekend and spending saturday morning with aunt amy at "build a bear". she came home with a pink teddy bear dressed in a skirt, high heels, and even hello kitty panties. she named it bubble gum and it has gone everywhere with her the past few days!
the not so highlight of the weekend was bath time. my parents have a big jacuzzi tub. aubs was in there with a bowl full of toys. my niece kate was watching her when aubs smiled and said, "did you hear that?" commenting on the toot she had just let out. but what came after that was the largest bowel movement i have ever seen come out of a 2 yr old. we were laughing so hard that but poor aubren got embarrased and began crying. and unfortunately we didn't clean it up quick enough before it broke apart and spread through the whole tub but trey came to the rescue and cleaned it all up! although the experience was hilarious i hope it never happens again!
saturday night we came home and trey pulled out the christmas tree and "fluffed" it. that is his only job (and a wonderful job he does!) and the rest is left to aubs and i. she decorated the tree herself and was very proud. even though all the ornaments were in clusters on the bottom branches. she also put her very own tree in her room. we went shopping for ornaments and she picked out some really cute sparkly purple ones. this year has been really fun for me because i love christmas and aubren is old enough to help and get excited about the traditions. i remember as a child setting out decorations with my mom and decorating my tree in my room. i remember falling asleep watching the lights of my christmas tree. to see her enjoy the same traditions is really sweet!
i love holiday weekends - i love when trey is home and we get to spend quality time as a family. so i am sad that tomorrow is monday but excited we get to do this all again in a few weeks for christmas!

poop in the bath...nice. we've only had that happen once...i hope it never happens again! :)
i've had that happen, too. but not in a jacuzzi tub! that makes for an even bigger mess. we loved seeing you guys, can't wait to see you again!
