We headed to Pensacola, FL this summer to visit Uncle Dan Dan. It was our first big family vacation. The girls were super excited to go on a road trip to the beach! We made our first stop in Jackson, MS. The hotel was right next door to a Bass Pro Shop so that is where we spent our evening. Aubren and Milia were not quite sure about all the "stuffed" animals. They enjoyed exploring the store, shooting guns and shopping for their first vacation treasures, a moose named Jingle and doggie named Jingle Bells.
The next day we continued to Pensacola. We arrived at Dan's house and the girls were so excited about seeing the beach that we drove down around sunset to let them run around in the sand. We quickly found out that Milia was not a fan of the pretty white beaches.

Our first full day at the beach was great. The city had seen rain the days before we arrived so it was cool and sunny. We rented an umbrella and chairs and sweet Milia stayed in her chair for the first three hours! While little bit relaxed, Aubren, Trey and I had fun building sand castles and burying each other in the sand. Finally, about 30 minutes before we were ready to go, Milia ventured out into the sand. She fell in love with her giant sand box! The next two days we visited the beach in the evening. The sunsets were beautiful and there were no crowds. My mom decided to come vacation with us for a few days too. We enjoyed having her with us and the girls loved having their JJ around to play with them.

One of our days we drove to the Gulfarium. The girls loved the dolphin show somuch that we brought home their favorite treasures, daisy and daphne dolphin.

We also got to visit Uncle Dan Dan's work. The girls loved the National Naval Aviation Museum.

It was a really, really long drive and we confirmed Milia Mae is not a good car traveler!!Besides that, our first family road trip was a success!
