i love my husband and his creativity! although i thought a horn would be more appropriate for milia he couldn't resist photoshopping a cigar into her hand!
i spent the weekend before my birthday with my family. my parents gave me the movie, "julie and julia". after we watched it they surprised me with julia child's cookbook. i am looking forward to cooking some french food for them soon. and my sis got me some fun cooking utensils! it was such a relaxing evening - the perfect way to start my birthday festivities!!

on my actual birthday, i woke up to a blanket of snow outside. we had a record snow fall - 12.5 inches. it was beautiful and we really enjoyed aubren's enthusiasm about playing in the snow. along with trey and our neighbor's randi and cody, she built a snowman and enjoyed every minute of it!

my mother and sisters in law came over on my birthday and took me out to dinner and watched a movie at our house. we always have so much fun together - i just wish i had a better photo to commemorate the evening.

saturday morning i met my sweet friends for brunch at la madeline. katrina made me a cookbook from a bunch of recipes that they had all given her. thank you girls for blessing me with your time and sweet words of encouragement!!
after brunch i met my sister in law, karis, to look at wedding dresses. she asked me to be a bridesmaid and i am so excited to be a part of her wedding! aubren is also pumped to be a flower girl and had fun trying on dresses. we love you karis!
the weekend was finished off with a trip to the dallas museum of nature and science. aubren loves to visit - her favorite part of course is digging for fossils! we went to the museum of natural history too and she was so enthusiastic about everything. she would run up to something and say, "mom/dad, you have to see this, come quick." and as soon as we saw it she was off to the next exhibit. trey also had fun reliving childhood memories with aubren as they walked along the paths over the pond.

aubren emphatically believes she wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up.

Sounds like a fantastic weekend! What a way to celebrate :)
For the record, I think the champagne and cigar photo are hi-larious.
<3!
I am still brainstorming a big way to celebrate our 30's
